Want to change ThinkPad X1 9th mainboard. What should I be aware of?

Tomorrow I plan to get my mainboard/motherboard changed, a simple warranty change, where I should get the same hardware as before.
Now the Lenovo-Support guy told me, that this could influence my disk encryption and I started looking around. What I mostly find is documentation for changing one hardware for a completely different one, e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/migrat … w_hardware

Now I wonder, what should I be aware of?
Basic Arch install, no weird things. No boot password, just plain and basic LUKS disc encryption.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Want to change ThinkPad X1 9th mainboard. What should I be aware of?

I think the hint from Lenovo support is related more for windows users, which use bitlocker and TPM.
If you use Luks with password, no TPM, then I think there should be no issue.

You may need to reinstall/configure the boot-loader afterwards, since these settings are in the UEFI variables, also lost during mainbard change.

It would be great, if you can post some feedback here.

I didn't have to do anything. They've just changed the board, and I was good to go.
