Hello, I just updated my laptop after a couple of weeks without updating, and have been treated to Firefox (?) causing gnome-shell to segfault and coredump. A piece of
journalctl -b
: http://ix.io/4KEr.
This appears to be an issue in Firefox specifically, kind of? Opening other applications also triggers this (while Firefox is open). From the logs, the segfault appears to be in libmozjs... but it *does* crash Gnome Shell entirely.
I've been unable to find similar issues. I've seen some for the Gnome Shell 45 upgrade, which I don't think this is (definitely updated some time in October). Has anyone seen similar problems? If so, could I get a link to some tracking issues? If not, could I have some help in narrowing down the problem?
Thanks in advance.

No, this is not a Firefox specify issue, after update to GNOME 45(with 2~3 gnome-shell extension enabled), i start crash frequently, in fact, it crash four times with in 30 minutes(gnome crash, and dump core), and need relogin again, all windows application killed after relogin.
those issue happen frequently at any time, e.g. pressing a hotkey, open a zip file etc ...
I don't know how to check log, when i run gnome logs app, i can check many Import message like this:
Process 55317(gnome-shell) of user 120 dumped core. Stack trace of thread 55324:#0 ...

Ftr, the gist of the linked thread is to downgrade gnome-extensions (what zw963 suggests to be trying right now)

Thanks. Rolling back gnome-extensions appears to fix it: went from multiple coredumps within minutes of logging in to none so far, all day. Presumably this will be the tracking issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-sh … issues/469
