Hey y'all, been using Arch for a couple of months and getting bit more tech-savvy everyday, but this issue may as well have bested me.
At it's core, the issue is almost identical to this one > https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2129212
But, instead I am using a laptop, which means ddcutil will not cut it for me.
I tried everything I could find to be a possible issue, mostly kernel params (acpi_backlight=video/native/vendor/nvidia_wmi_ec + nvidia.NVreg_EnableBacklightHandler=1), although there were other possible fixes such as updating, rebooting, etc.
When I try to change my brightness through GNOME GUI, it just stays the same.
When trying through a TUI tool like brightnessctl, I get an error of the sort "Protocol not found" (paraphrasing since I can't replicate it)
When I try to edit /sys/class/backlight/nvidia_0/brightness I get an error 212 (while using vim)
Although, every time I reboot it seems that /sys/class/backlight/nvidia_0 seems to disappear, and I don't really know what to do about that.
Journal seems to be fine, scrolled through it and saw no errors.
The issue first appeared when I rebooted after a very recent update, so it could possibly be a driver issue I'd just have to wait out.
Any help is very much appreciated!
