[SOLVED] error 523 on archmirror.it when running pacman

Since running pacman -Syu as root yesterday darktable has been unresponsive when trying to import new filmrolls (DT slang for folders/directories). So with thoughts of reinstalling DT I ran pacman -Syu as root a few minutes ago with the following response: <edit: SYU correction to Syu</edit>

 [root@mingus ~]# pacman -Syu

I strongly suspect the package opencv is the cause of my troubles. But I have no idea how an Italian repository got in there. I thought I had cancelled all but the top 5 UK pacman repos. However, that was several months ago and I was ill and making a lot of mistakes several months ago! So it is quite possible I thought I had cut the repos numbers down but failed to do so or did it wrongly.

In any event, I can't update my system just now. Would somebody please point the way forward for me?

<edit2> Lifted 5 good repos according to the Mirror Status list to the top of /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.pacnew uncommented, moved mirrorlist.pacnew to mirrorlist and it worked.

Re: [SOLVED] error 523 on archmirror.it when running pacman

archmirror.it is out of sync.  Change the primary mirror to one that is in sync.  See https://http.dev/523 for the error code.
