USB Printer Error

I cannot get my Epson Stylus Photo 820 working, connecting it through USB.  After trying to print a test page, the status of the printer is "Ready: /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoepson failed."  anybody have any ideas how to fix this?  Thanks.

Try running rastertoepson standalone - probably it will give some lib missing errors. I had similar problem with canon printers

Looks like it is running fine stand alone:

[mitch /home/mitch]$ /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoepson
ERROR: rastertoepson job-id user title copies options [file]

Anybody have any idea what else I can try to do to get some useful informationon the problem?  I don;t even have enough information on whats going wrong to google anything useful.  Thanks.
