Hello, I found this forum post 2 years ago that is similar to my situation rn, but is unresolved: [https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=254443]
So I was gifted a Lenovo IdeaPad S145-I4IGM and installed Arch, KDE, and Wayland on it. All is fine and dandy except for the charging issues. So when I close the lid or I shut it down it charges properly. I'm certain it's not a hardware issue, as the laptop is charging fine even when Windows 10 was installed to this laptop.
However if I connect the charger while booted, or the lid is open, it continuously changes in the state of charging and discharging. If it's on a charging state for some time, however, it instead drains it like it wasn't charging at all.
Let me know if you guys need additional info, thanks.
Edit: Looking at the LED indicator, when lid is closed or laptop is shut down, the LED is red and is charging normally. Whereas when booted, the LED turns on (color red) and off repeatedly.

Found this article that seemingly fixed my problem: https://bbs.archlinux.org/[[viewtopic.php?id=288965
Just install lenopow, then disable battery protection: lenopow --disable.
Needs further testing tho, but when executing the command, my laptop begins to charge and I don't have to shut it down or close the lid. Will mark this as solved later when proven.

After days of testing, no it wasn't solved solely by installing lenopow and disabling battery protection.
However, I was able to solve it by updating the BIOS, so do that if you guys ever encounter this problem at all.
Additional note, if you guys notice that when you enable battery protection after updating BIOS, it'll get stuck and discharge to 50-60%. Disabling it will fully charge it tho.
