Reinstalling Brave Browser

I have been trying to reinstall the brave-bin package due to my browser not allowing me to update. When I try to run an update I am prompted with "Brave couldn't update to the latest version so you're missing the latest security fixes.". But I cannot seem to reinstall the package and I am worried about wiping all of my passwords and saved data. Does anyone know what command I could run that would reinstall brave without wiping my data? Thanks!

Re: Reinstalling Brave Browser

The same way you installed it in the first place. What problem are you having, exactly?

Re: Reinstalling Brave Browser

when i run "sudo pacman -S brave-bin" i get " error: target not found: brave-bin
warning: 'brave-bin' is a file, did you mean -U/--upgrade instead of -S/--sync?"
When i run "sudo pacman -U brave-bin" i get "error: could not open file brave-bin: Error reading fd 7
error: 'brave-bin': cannot open package file"

I'm not really sure that is causing the issue.

Re: Reinstalling Brave Browser

man pacman

will tell you that you need to specify the pathe/filename of the package (ending on pkg.tar.zstd) together withe the -U option. -S will only work if you put your package to a personel local repo, what you obviosly did not do.
