Hi everyone,
After I have installed the fcitx5 Chinese input method add-on and have done some basic setup for its pinyin module, I noticed that the pinyin input method outputs Traditional Chinese characters for some words instead of Simplified Chinese. The ibus-libpinyin doesn't have this problem and outputs Simplified Chinese characters all the time.
I have looked in the configuration and couldn't find any option to fix this issue. Is this problem caused by a locale configuration issue on my system, or the input method requires extra configuration? It's worth noting that the fcitx5 input method on my Ubuntu system doesn't have this issue, so I'm suspecting that I'm missing some configuration I need to do.
It would be highly appreciated if anyone could provide a solution to this problem. I'm using i3 window manager and not using any desktop environment.
Thanks!

Ubuntu seems to ship https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … se-addons/ ?
Do you use that or https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/an … in-zhwiki/ ?
pacman -Qs fcitx5Edit:
https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/an … ble-extra/
https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/an … ble-other/

Maybe you have switched the output to the traditional characters by accident? By pressing crtl+shift+f

Thanks a lot, that addressed my issue! I didn't notice the Simplified/Traditional Chinese toggle that appears in the menu when right-clicking on the tray icon.
