Module for Marvell PATA

To the kernel devs:

By googling, I believe there is an experimental patch for the Marvell PATA drivers in the current kernels.  Could you please enable it as a module in the next arch kernel release?

I bought an Intel DP965LT motherboard for Core 2 CPU that has a 965 Express (ICH8) chipset with the Marvell PATA chip.  I thought the board used the JMicron chip. I installed 0.8alpha3 on the SATA drive with no problems.  However dmesg shows no pata or ide detected.

lspci:
IDE interface: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Unknown device 6101.

If somebody knows how to solve this problem, please advise.

Thanks,

Re: Module for Marvell PATA

it's included in the upcoming kernel 2.6.20 series, it should be released soon and then it will be part of a new installation ISO

Re: Module for Marvell PATA

Thanks for the quick replies.

I will wait for 2.6.20 stable.  Linus wrote that he will release it upon his return from Australia if there were no showstoppers in rc5.
