Hello.
As a daredevil beginner, I installed Arch years ago to dive head first into the world of Linux. It brought me a lot of knowledge, but at the time, I followed a dumb "advice" to create two partitions for both ROOT and HOME folders for the sakes of "safety" and security. It became quickly a problem for me when I had to download large files and the benefits of this advice didn't seem obvious so I decided to fix it one time for all and to use GParted to merge both partitions into one. (with dd backups, obviously)
It kinda worked but now my KDE desktop is unable to work correctly. According to my searches, it is mostly related to programs like Baloo5 (it's going nuts when my external HDD is mounted up), kf.kio.widgets and kwin. I feel like Dbus is a bit sick because of some weird error messages, but I could be wrong.
The log is right here: https://0x0.st/H3vk.txt

The only troublesome thing in that journal is your rtl88x2bu wifi, there're tons of network related timeouts.
baloo has mostly "libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile", likely from indexing some shady pornhub pictures ![]()
(the PNG in question isn't really proper, but that's not an actual problem)
Do you have alternative network means? Can you use the wired r8169 connection?
(And since the rtl88x2bu seems to be some dongle, just unplug that)

I sadly can't use Ethernet because of the brilliant architecture of my house. No ports. I can only use Wi-Fi and my motherboard wasn't made for that - dumb me thought I'd never need it - so I use a TP-Link Archer T3U to cover my Wi-Fi connection. I'll still unplug that and tell you if the situation improves.

Can you use https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Tethering ?

I can. I'll try this if unplugging my T3U improves global stability ; but it would be weird because this Wi-Fi driver perfectly works on my recovery USB drive (still Arch btw).

On what kernel?

6.6.4-arch1-1. Happy to know RinCat still manages the driver.
After testing, I can confirm it mostly works. I'll wait a bit before deleting the backups however, nobody knows.
