[RESOLVED] Thinkpad hibernating even with xset configuration set up

I currently have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 with i3 as my window manager and Xorg as my display server. I have ran into the issue that my screen starts sleeping (goes black) after a certain period of inactivity (haven't timed but at least 5 minutes). On Windows I know you can go into settings and adjust this time, and on Arch the solution I see recommended is the package xorg-xset. So I installed it to my system and added the following to my .xinitrc

xset s off
xset -dpms
xset s noblank

but the screen still goes dark after a while. Additionally, I think currently it may be more than just turning off the screen because it takes around 10 seconds for the screen to turn back on after moving the mouse, meaning maybe it goes into some "hibernation" state.

I am wondering if there is some way to fix this.

Never mind, I put it in my .xinitrc but I never rebooted or actually ran the commands. Well then.
