You are not logged in.
Happened recently where the startup of some applications like kitty terminal, chrome and firefox are very slow when you log in to the session from gdm.
The slow issue only occurs when logging in and after a 20 seconds these applications also start working normally.
No such issues on Xorg.
I'm new to Arch and have been trying to resolve this for some time now.
This is

What does "slow" mean, exactly? Is there a delay on startup or do you mean their operation is slow? If the latter, how are you quantifying the speed? What, exactly, is performing less well than you would expect? EDIT: slow startup, as per the thread title.
Those EGL messages in the log lead me to suspect you have an NVIDIA card, is that the case?
lspci -knn -d ::03xxNVIDIA's support for EGL is pretty poor. Does rolling back the proprietary driver improve things?

No i have it installed on a laptop with Intell UHD Graphics
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Host: Latitude 5490
Kernel: 6.6.7-arch1-1
Uptime: 2 mins
Packages: 1085 (pacman), 12 (flatpak)
Shell: zsh 5.9
Resolution: 1920x1080
DE: GNOME 45.2
WM: Mutter
WM Theme: Adwaita
Theme: Adwaita-dark [GTK2/3]
Icons: Tela-circle [GTK2/3]
Terminal: kitty
CPU: Intel i5-8350U (8) @ 3.600GHz
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620
Memory: 1854MiB / 7802MiB Not all applications are slow on startup with wayland but a few as listed above take about 10 to 20 seconds.
Nautilus, System settings or Gnome console(kgx) open immediately.
Once those initial 10 to 20 seconds on startup are passed and the applications open if i close them and open again they start working normally again as in they open up immediately.
Happens only when i initially login from gdm into the wayland session.

Ah yes, I see i915 very clearly in the logs. I really need to work on my reading skills.
Can we see the full journal? Excepts can miss important context.

1. You've multiple network agents enabled concurrently. NM and systemd-networkd and resolved and avahi both want to handle avahi, the latter likely because of fwupd and this clusterfuck here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/79897
=> remove fwupd and this passim or disable mdns resolution for resolved, then choose between NM and networkd and disable the other
2.

Removed fwupd and passim.
sudo pacman -R fwupd passim Disabled systemd.networkd
sudo systemctl disable systemd.networkd.service And added those lines to the kernel parameters in my /etc/default/grub file and did grub-mkconfig
This is the journalctl after command
sudo journalctl -b Edit: Forgot to add the issue still remains and if i made some mistake in deleting passim do inform me.

sudo pacman -Rss pulseaudio
Nobody suggested anything like that, install pipewire-pulse, disable iwd, (in doubt see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … Fi_backend ) and

Archiso which is an old graphical installer. Needed a fast install and archinstall script provides too low speeds for download in my region even when using reflector so it was the last alternative.
For iwd there is no file in /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/ which should mean it is disabled from the wiki you provided.
should i just reinstall it through cli again? i have a lot of stuff configured but it is better to have a properly functioning system rather than going through the pain of configuring again.
Last alternative is to just use Xorg and ditch Wayland.

You will have to if you want to seek support here. Archiso is not supported and you really should have mentioned that in the OP to stop wasting our time. We have no idea how the Archiso installer works.

No, that's entirely not what that means.

You'll not get around reading up the stuff you skippedto get a modest idea what you're doing and
Archiso which is an old graphical installer
WTF is that supposed to be? Link?
"Archiso" is https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Archiso and that has absolutely NOTHING to do with installing archlinux (except "create a customized install iso to then install arch from that)

Thank you fro the info i will reinstall cleanly again instead of using crutches for installation. For me the installation failed numerously using archinstall and even without it due to poor speeds in downloads which does not happen afterwards so i am confused about that aswell. I will reinstall it. Thanks for the time.

Don't use archinstall either, follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Installation_guide and make sure to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Instal … he_mirrors
