Hey everyone. Switched to Arch yesterday and getting accustomed with wayland. (used Xorg before)
My computer's hardware is fairly new so something don't work like they should. I need to configure the audio, display and keyboard by my self and I'm stuck at layout..
During the installation I chose my keyboard layout "pt-latin1" but it seems that it stills being "us".
I don't really know much commands so if any input needed I'm up to it.
Here's locate status input-
System Locale: LANG=pt_PT.UTF-8
VC Keymap: pt-latin1
X11 Layout: (unset)

Which Wayland compositor are you using? They should have their own method for setting the layout.

Why did you not try an internet search before posting? Information about changing keyboard layout in Plasma seems to be readily available.

Because the OP used archinstall or worse.
The vconsole layout is irrelevant for KDE, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg/K … _localectl

^ And set-x11-keymap is irrelevant under Wayland ![]()
@OP: that dodo bloke knows about this: https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/pla … uages.html ← that's about adding extra layouts but it shows how to find the keyboard settings in Plasma.

A lot of wayland compositors parse that specific config and i'm relatively sure that plasma will - next to the likely sddm which is also rather likely still on x11

Thank you about that!
You're right, I should have searched more before posting. I was complicating everything.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
