[SOLVED] Fail to boot with enlightenment or GNOME

Hi,

I recently changed my DE from GNOME to Enlightenment. After a couple of reboots I got some errors.

First problem was a failed load into Enlightenment from Entrance. I just got sent back in a loop, back to the login screen.

Then I tried to login via installation medium and chroot in to disable enlightenment.service and enabling gdm.service however that failed as I now get [FAILED] Failed to start D-Bus system message bus" before booting into the display manager. Then GNOME Display manager uses 3min 2s to boot, before eventually failing aswell.

No tty available through ctrl+alt+f1 etc

System was updated with pacman -Syu

(Extra, at every boot I have "A start job is running for /dev/disk/by-uuid...." 1min 30 sec. I was going to try and solve this one myself, but any help is appreciated.)

Re: [SOLVED] Fail to boot with enlightenment or GNOME

Possibly botched transition to dbus-broker?
Either way, we'll need some data on the problem.

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

If you cannot access the system, to reboot into the multi-user.target (2nd link below) and post the previous journal (… -b -1 …)

Re: [SOLVED] Fail to boot with enlightenment or GNOME

Solved after some reinstalls...

I ended up manually launching Enlightenment instead of using Entrance since; "Warning: Entrance is highly experimental, and does not have proper systemd support. Use it at your own risk."
