while using any linux distro, I use libreoffice. I install libreoffice-still (fresh did not open), and see that the application does not open.
When i run "libreoffice" from the terminal, I get
Entity: line 1: parser error : Document is empty
^
Unspecified Application Error
```
*installed from AUR, using paru
How do i go and open LIBREOFFICE?
please KEEP IN MIND, libreoffice-fresh does the same!
there are no stale zombie processes
Solution:
- run in safe mode, then run libreoffice without GL.
Does it not open or is it just a one pixel sized line? There used to be issues with that. Also in a general sense what is your environment and how do you login and how are you starting it.
Can you start it with --safe-mode? Also since you mentioned the AUR, are you sure you installed it from the AUR or from the repos? there's an actual difference.
Yes, I installed from the AUR., and it does not open. I can confirm it is NOT a one pixel sized line. The libreoffice loading shows, But closes. The error is shown below. Safe mode does open, And I reset my settings, only to get thr same error below
Error in the terminal:
Entity: line 1: parser error : Document is empty
^
Unspecified Application Error
Desktop Enviroment: GNOME
Starting by the app icon, And terminal if fails.
Both do fail.
There is no libreoffice-still package in the AUR. Since you're certain you installed it from the AUR, we need to know what package you installed, exactly.
Try w/o GL: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LibreO … or_crashes
pacman -Qmq
And please stop random markup usage, one might get eye-cancer from your posts.
Use
tags and keep it to one emphasis (underline XOR italic XOR bold, not all at once) - and the rule of thumb is that underlining is probably wrong.
Also asterisks usually come in pairs, one inside the text and then one in the footer.
Oops! It seems that when I run paru -S libreoffice, it gives me a selection window between
libreoffice-still
and
libreoffice-fresh
. It installs these packages from the Arch PACKAGES. . So, I'm sorry, but I installed it from the packages. I am sorry for the accident. Also, I will try to stop using random markup!
The exact package that I installed from the PACKAGES, is
libreoffice-still
Have a great day!
Did you see the link in my previous post?
"repositories", not "packages" - and typographically upcasing is just as bad as underlining, both are typewriter relics.
I can't believe I'm asking that, but from recent patterns this might have become an actual problem for a generation that believes that fartbook is the internet…
You do understand what a hyperlink is, do you?
You can click on it and it's gonna take you to a different webpage.
In this case one that explains exactly that.
