mic issue with discord

hello, ive been using linux for a while now and gotten pretty good. in install pipewire and other needed packages and enabled the daemon. i set it and forget it. now ive been trying to get my mic in discord to work. in on my thinkpad t480.ive looked at the pipewire and wireplumber arch wiki pages and didnt get much info. any help is appreciated.

I admit, I am lazy when it comes to audio stuff and lean on the GUI tool pavucontrol.   I would install and run that and explore the configuration, input and playback tabs in that order.
