Hi,
for quite some time, I was not able to print anything on my Brother DCP-T420W used through wifi. I finally was able to configure it by using the following command:
lpadmin -p Brother -v ipp://xx.xx.xx.xx:631/ipp/print -m everywhere
Is there any other way to configure this kind of printer?
All my recent attempt through cups web interface did not have positive results. Configuration made through cups UI just helped me to get the IP of the printer that I could configure through the lpadmin command.
I also note that I was not able to find a solution in archlinux guide. I may have missed something.

In how far? Did you select the wrong (non-everywhere) driver?
Adding a printer there should™ not be different than through lpadmin at all.
Online
Automatic discovery should also be possible, but that requires a complete avahi setup.

Well, I tried to configure printer using the cups UI. He finds the printer and name it: lpd://BRW38D57AB7DE7C/BINARY_P1
Then, i choose the brand (BROTHER) and then the model: Brother DCPT420W CUPS (en). They are two options for the model with the exact same name (Brother DCPT420W CUPS (en)). It does not work.
The UI is in french. I hope my translation is correct.
As I red through the CUPS-Archwiki page right now, I noticed that the command I used can be found through a link in section 2.3.1 Adding known location printers. The link given there is: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/tr … p-printers
I think, I did not get that I would need to find the most import information outside archwiki. Now that I "know", I seems easy. I think I can close this post as solved. I'm probably missing basic knowledge about the evolution of cups or some related aspects.

I can't really say whether there's a problem w/ tha AUR package, but lpd != ipp

And you especially don't need any driver for IPP everywhere, that's the whole point of ipp everywhere.
You'd select the ipp everywhere "driver" in the web interface.

Just my two cents, YMMV, but I could never get my Brother HL-L2370DW connected to my linux machine. I had an extra problem that it was located on a different LAN.
Came across this package, and with arch, I was actually able to find my printer and print!

In case you're out of ideas.
