[SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

I have a 16" legion 5 pro with the default resolution of

Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 2560 x 1600, maximum 32767 x 32767
DP-0 disconnected primary (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-3 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-4 connected 2560x1600+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 345mm x 215mm
   2560x1600 60.00*+ 240.00

it doesnt show any other modes, unlike my nvidia-settings: https://imgur.com/a/HdfwEpN

thx in advance

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

Mmm... Seems there's something wrong with your dual-GPU setup...
Please post here output of

$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

and

# lspci -vnn

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

The nvidia driver offers you to set a resolution you can get through "xrandr --output DP-4 --scale <x> <y>"
The 2560x1600 is the only actually physical mode.

Still post your xorg log, yes.
Its location depends on how you start X11: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General

So you are saying that the others resolutions are not natively supported (without scaling) just the 2560x1600?

I tried

xrandr --output DP-4 --scale 1920x1200

but got a

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

That's not how the scale parameter works, you pass one or two factors

xrandr --output DP-4 --scale 0.75

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

oh okay but i think you did not got what i meant, so my monitor does not support others resolutions WITHOUT scaling? Like my older laptop where xrandr shows other modes available

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

Apparently not.

for OUT in /sys/class/drm/card0*; do echo $OUT; edid-decode $OUT/edid; echo "================="; done

You'll need https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/edid-decode-git

You can add modelines to the server (but will also have to convince the nvidia driver to accept them)
Why is this a topic?
Ie. what's your actual concern here?

Well i'm not used to HiDPI monitors, and i was used to the normal 1920x1080 resolution, but now everything looks smaller than usual, like if I access the devtools of the browser, the UI of the browser is ok bc it follows my lxappearence but the devtool font is too small, not only this but here and there if something is fine with a config of font/size, there somehting there will be different or too small bc of the big resolution of my screen, so i thought with myself maybe using it on a 1920 resolution would fix, actually i can change the DPI but even a small change like from 96 to 120 (125% i guess) its already TOO big

Re: [SOLVED] xrandr showing only one resolution

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Hidpi

The output is ~190dpi, a sane™ normal font size is 8pt - 12 pt
