Wierd fonts

http://www.digitaluploader.com/viewer.p … Fonts3.png

I've set the fonts in gtk styles and fonts to tahoma 8pt but for some reason some of the fonts appear as in the screenshot; fuzzy and ugly. Any ideas what may be causing this?

The only qt app i see this happenning on is opera.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Wierd fonts

Hi islamguide.com,
try to disable bitmap fonts. In /etc/fonts/conf.d create, if not exists, a link to ../conf.avail/70-no-bitmaps.conf

ln -s ../conf.avail/70-no-bitmaps.conf

Restart X

Re: Wierd fonts

The problem is propably your font. If i remember correctly, the bold tahoma fonts are not correctly rendered...

I would suggest to try with another font or just get tahomabd.ttf from somewhere and copy it to /usr/share/fonts/TTF

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod

Re: Wierd fonts

Thanks, you fixed me too funkyou. Wonder why that font is not in ttf-ms-fonts by default? Could be licensing, I guess... but then why tahoma.ttf and not tahomabd.ttf?
