[SOLVED] Blank greeter sddm wayland
Recently while running cpu and gpu intensive workload, my laptop froze. I did a hard restart with the power button but since then whenever i boot, the login screen is just black.
At first i thought it wasn't booting but i soon realised i could login by just blindly typing my password. I use Hyprland on wayland with SDDM. Asus zephyrus g15 amd integrated card and nvidia dedicated.

Graphics work after the login?
pacman -Qikk sddm
sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.stWhat do you use as SDDMs CompositorCommand ?

Yes graphics works, everything works, just not the greeter. Honestly, its been a while i switched to wayland and moved to hyprland, i never had any issues with it.
Anyway, i installed weston and the greeter works now. I'm not sure if i had weston previously as i never uninstalled anything before it stopped working.
I'll mark this as solved, but if anyone can shed more light fell free to. Thank you.

You'd have to lookup your pacman log and SDDM config too see whether you had weston or anything else was configured as compositor - you can also look at the older journals to maybe see what failed.
"Anyone" else can certainly not give you any information about what was wrong about your system while you're the only one privy to all relevant data.
