Load Beryl Early?

I previously used Sabayon linux, and one of the features of the 3.2 release was that Beryl loaded at the same time/before KDE, giving it the illusion of being tightly integrated.  As it stands now, it loads after KDE.  KDE loads, then the screen flashes, dims, w/e, and Beryl loads.

Is there a way to make this appear less obvious, by making Beryl load earlier?

Re: Load Beryl Early?

Create a file in $HOME/.kde/env/, for example $HOME/.kde/env/env.sh. It has to contain this line:

export KDEWM=/usr/bin/beryl-manager

I just changed my setup this way and it does what you ask.

Re: Load Beryl Early?

hm, when i start beryl like described above, the kde crash window shows up and claims that qauamarine has crashed. But it works anyway...

Has someone experienced this too?

It works, but the crash window on every start is quite annoying...

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod

Hmmm, doesn't happen to me.  I'm running your most excellent kemod with the latest updates.  Of course, I'm using Emerald vs Aquamarine.
