Hello everyone!
I'm a new Arch user and I have been struggling with a problem lately. I have search for solutions, asked friends for help but nothing really helped my case.
To give context, I have a 2 computers, my laptop, with i3, and a desktop, with gnome, that is on my work place, both using Arch Linux. I frequently access my desktop computer remotely via ssh as I am allowed to work from home. However, there are times where I lose access and when trying to ssh I get "ssh: connect to host <host> port 22: No route to host".
I've been doing some tests and I realized that this happens when the computer reboots. On the bios settings I set the desktop to turn on after power loss as sometimes there are power cuts at my work place. So when the desktop powers on, it goes to the gnome's login screen. However after a certain (short) amount of time, which I don't know exactly what is, the desktop suspends as there is no direct interaction with it. Luckily, I'm normally able to go there and "wake" the computer and then I get access.
As you can understand this sometimes can be a bit frustrating and I'd like to have a solution where my desktop does not suspend on the login page after a certain amount of time an stays wake "forever".
As mentioned, I have already search for this problem, I tried some solutions, I dig into gnome settings but nothing work.
What can I do to fix this issue? Is there any solution or should I switch from gnome to i3 like I have on my laptop?
Thank you in advance.
