Does "nobarrier" mount option break btrfs filesystem?

I find on the Internet that "barrier" is important for journaling filesystem. Btrfs is COW filesystem.
So will using "nobarrier" mount option harm btrfs filesystem?

Re: Does "nobarrier" mount option break btrfs filesystem?

It's an option that exists, so in and of itself it will not break it. But it's very much discouraged to set it unless your disk is battery powered and can keep running while everything else is dead. Just read the relevant info in the manpage: https://man.archlinux.org/man/btrfs.5.en#barrier,,
