[SOLVED] Keyboard not working on Kernel 6.7.6

Hi everyone,

After my last update of the Linux Kernel I was unable to log into my little Acer Chromebook with Intel Celeron N3060 (Relm). Everything seemed to be fine on the boot process but once I got the display manager (in my case is Ly) I noticed I was not able to write anything and the power button was the only working button (thanks God!). I supposed it was a problem with Ly so I tried Ctrl + Alt + F3(4, 5, 6...) without success, that made me suspect it was a keyboard problem but when I did enter the grub menu everything was normal with it. Then I changed the run level to 3 with the same result, I was not able to login because no matter what key I pressed nothing appeared on the screen, same thing when tried also run level 1.

What I did was chrooting from my arch emergency iso, updated and disabled ly.service, reboot... no success. Until then I realized that maybe could be a Kernel problem so instead of downgrading the Kernel I installed the linux-lts package. After that everything works as usually! My question now is should I try to look for the problem on the main line Kernel (which I don't know how as I can't login with an unworking keyboard so everything should be done on a chrooted environment) or should I just wait for an update and try again the ordinary Kernel? This is not my main laptop, I just use it for watching videos on YouTube and social media things, so I don't need a special Kernel for that.

Thankyou and hope I was clear enough on my explanation, also please excuse my english as I am not a native speaker.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard not working on Kernel 6.7.6

My girlfriend has the same laptop and we encountered the same issue. Also rolled back to 6.6 LTS for now.

If you do want to poke around the mainline kernel, an external keyboard still works! smile

Thankyou for your answers and the info you are sharing with me, today I updated the Linux Kernel to the 6.7.6-arch1-2 version and now the keyboard is working well again. smile
