Hello,
the title is pretty explicit... libreoffice seems to work well but impossible to save any document (relaunch the save screen forever). It seems to "crash" after you finally choose cancel (no more responsive but close ok), no recovery offer at next launch.... work lost forever.
Probably KD6 related but i don't test just before the upgrade...
Am i the only one?
Edit :
I try to create the doc before and in this case you can save the change you have done BUT you can't create and save a new doc from libreoffice.

I had the same problem too, until I set SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 (setting it to 'gtk3' also works) to fix the UI scaling issue mentioned in another thread. In addition to fixing that problem, doing this seems to fix the saving issue.
What a nightmare this rushed rollout of Plasma 6 is...

I had the same issue and can confirm that setting that env. variable solves it.

Ok, thanks. For the moment i create the .odt first and then open to edit it. In this case i can save my work... I will maybe try to set env, but i mainly wanted to know if i was alone with this bug... This bug will be fix soon i suppose.

Thanks, I had a separate issue where exporting a PDF would create an ODT file, regardless of export config or filename. `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5` made it work again.

For the saving issues, found the bug on LibreOffice’s side (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/sho … ?id=159701) which then points to this KDE bug, on which I commented (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481287).
For the scaling issues, there two issues that may be linked on LibreOffice’s side (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141578 and https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/sho … id=160083). It may help to comment on them.

Dumb question: WHERE/HOW to set such env variable in a way that I still can start the apps through the usual ways ("starting" a document, Plasma menu/pinned Icons, etc.)? Any known side effects? I assume that one would need to remove such env var after the package has been fixed.

Thanks @seth (and sorry, I probably should have been able to find this myself).

LibreOffice just got an update (libreoffice-fresh 24.2.1-2) fixing this issue.

This workaround is no longer needed since Plasma 6.0.2 was released with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-in … ea1035dabb
