So I really don't have a problem to solve here. I just came across a web page that provides some great information on how to customize pipewire.

Basically this covers how to configure pipewire so that the original sample rate of the source material will be used by the DAC if possible, or if a sample rate conversion is going to occur, making sure that it's a re-sampling of a bit higher than default quality.
Works nice! I use a Schiit Hel and now it will switch to the sample rate of the source material. Be warned that any further source which is also going to the same DAC will be re-sampled to the sample rate currently "in use".
