[Solved]How to stop kernel from trying amd_pstate ?

full log at http://0x0.st/HhmS.txt

mrt 10 09:28:29 silverbolt kernel: amd_pstate: the _CPC object is not present in SBIOS or ACPI disabled

I'm using an ASRock Taichi X399 motherboard with a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X 12-Core Processor.

I doubt very much amd_pstate supports zen1 and am satisified with acpi-cpufreq .

$ modinfo amd_pstate
modinfo: ERROR: Module amd_pstate not found.
$

Q: How to stop kernel from trying amd_pstate ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

"amd_pstate=disable", https://docs.kernel.org/admin-guide/ker … eters.html
Error is mentioned in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/CPU_fr … ng_drivers - does it actually cause problems? Do you have the BIOS option?

Re: [Solved]How to stop kernel from trying amd_pstate ?

Nope, NBIO has no SMU options.

In past logs there was a mention amd_pstate was disabled by default, but since late december 2023 the above message is shown.
I'm not aware of problems caused by it but am trying to reduce the number of warnings in dmesg/journalctl.

I'll try the kernel parameter.

EDIT:

works fine, marking as solved.
