[SOLVED] Firefox not playing audio (mp3, ogg)

Title. When I try to play any audio file with the mentioned codecs, OR any video with that kind of audio I get silence. Checking into FF's console I get:

Cannot play media. No decoders for requested formats: audio/mpeg, audio/mpeg

googling a bit I couldnt find much other than ffmpeg not being installed causing this, which isnt the case here.
in about:support I have this which is kinda baffling.

The other bit I found was checking that  "media.mediasource.enabled" was set to true on about:config, which was set from the start here as well.
Any ideas?
