title. It just says "checking for signal"
rx 6600, displayport, wayland kde, idk what else to provide
worth noting that I had the exact same issues on raspberry pi, so I posted on their forum and I got a solution that is "vc4.force_hotplug=1," however I can't figure out how to apply it to arch and other linux in general

Same problem w/ X11?
Do you plug/activate tht output "late"?

So KDE is less relevant that SDDM (I guess, what's your login screen)
Does SDDM run on X11 or wayland (don't guess, check)
Ultimately might be the same problem as https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=293235 and https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=293426

it was X, switched to wayland but nothing changed

Try to inject the edid into the kernel and set the output as enabled.

thanks for that, seems to work fine now... but I assume that's just a workaround, not a proper solution?

At least X11 will enable all outputs present when it starts, but not automatically such attached later.
You'd need x-on-resize or a udev rule to automatize that, and for SDDM on wayland I'm not even sure wheter this is possible at all (and it'll depend on the compositor used for that)
So you either fake the presence or add some service to toggle the display when it's attached - pick your poison.
In case, please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
