Hello everyone,
since recently - I think since the big KDE/Plasma update - I have issues with the Webcam connected to my system. The Webcam shows normally at lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:0825 Logitech, Inc. Webcam C270
If try to use the Webcam, for example when using Cheese, only a white image is shown. When starting Cheese from the command line, the following messages is printed several times:
(cheese:2313): cheese-WARNING **: 20:32:04.533: Invalid data: ../gstreamer/subprojects/gst-plugins-bad/gst/jpegformat/gstjpegparse.c(939): gst_jpeg_parse_handle_frame (): /GstCameraBin:camerabin/GstWrapperCameraBinSrc:camera_source/GstBin:bin36/GstDecodeBin:decodebin1/GstJpegParse:jpegparse1:
Failed to parse app0 segment
Apparently, this is related to Gstreamer, but I have no idea if I have to do something to fix it, or if that is a bug in GStreamer or the kernel... Any help is appreciated.
Best,
Jens

I encounter the same problem with my Logitech C270 webcam. Have you managed to sort the issue out?
UPDATE: At least in my case it seems to be hardware related, pressing the lens with a cotton swab returns the video. A permanent fix seems to be tightening two screws behind the lens.
