hiding optdeps from update output?

When doing a system update, it's quite annoying to see all those already installed optional dependencies, and the more important informations i.e. about .pacnew files are hidden by this swamp of useless info. So I was wondering whether there is some way to hide these (and maybe even all non-new optional dependencies), but the only relevant thing I found is this wiki user page talking about "information about optdepends is not output if an optdepends package is installed", which is exactly what I want.

Now pacman 4.1 is quite some while ago, considering we're at pacman 6.1 by now, so what exactly do I have to do to use this? Did I accidentially set some config flag somewhere to not have them hidden?

Re: hiding optdeps from update output?

Optional deps will only be shown on update if they've changed. It shouldn't be a 'swamp', and it's not useless information.

Post full, complete output of what you're referring to.
