[SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Am I the only one having issues starting qBittorrent under the new Qt upgrade? After a downgrade, it works properly.

I can't see the application. I'm using Gnome Wayland. After downloading qt packages to 6.6.3, it returns back visible.

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Upgraded Qt and installed QBittorrent from Flatpak. The Flatpak version is working properly while the Arch one is invisible at launch.

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Using Kvantum or similar for Qt apps in Gnome?
Start it with qbittorrent --style=Fusion to rule out possible theming messups (that will start Qbittorrent with basic Fusion style).

Tried your tip, but no luck, still not visible. I don't have any custom theme installed at the moment. The Flatpak version instead is using qadwaitadecorations.

Anyway, if it was a theme issue, why should it work downgrading Qt?

I'd say, there's definitely a QT-related issue, I wonder why no one speaks about that. QT Creator window is invisible, without any significant errors in terminal. Picture view windows in Telegram are also invisible. All after latest QT update.

Yes. Fortunately I have only qBittorrent as Qt6 application. I installed it from Flatpak and uninstalled it from upstream with all related Qt packages. To me it's resolved, but yes, there's still an issue with upstream Qt outside Plasma.

I'm (kinda) C++/QT developer and the issue is obvious, I just can't work. The question is, why there's no any mention, I can't find any related issue on gitlab...

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

FWIW, I tried all the QT/KDE apps I have installed on my laptop and all work perfectly, QT Designer included (I don't have QT Creator, sorry). I installed qbittorrent just to try it and it also works perfectly fine as do all other QT6 apps I tried. My system is fully updated with KDE 6.0.3 - QT 6.7 - kernel 6.8.5 and so on.

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Same here after today's upgrade for all qt6 apps (doublecmd, calibre, qbittorrent).
Temporary workaround start with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb variable. Seems something is broken with qt6.7 and wayland

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

No messages at all. Nothing in journalctl as well. Just no main window for application, however some windows are working (calibre loading screen, qbittorent modal dialog "Are you sure want to exit..")
gnome-shell, wayland session

Any specific theme you're using? In my case with all standard Breeze Dark everything works perfectly fine.

I tried qBittorrent with both qadwaitadecoration and the default (the one ugly without borders). They are not working, unless you switch to xWayland or use the Flatpak version (which I suppose it's built against the previous Qt release).

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Same problem (invisible window) with Strawberry and OBS Studio on Gnome Wayland. I have added QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb to /etc/environment file, restarted Gnome Wayland session, and said apps work as expected since then. I use another computer running Plasma 6 Wayland and the same apps and qBittorrent run natively on Wayland without any problem on it.

Is this a Gnome bug, or a Qt bug?

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

OK, I didn't realize that this happens under Gnome. I use KDE and I see no problem whatsoever so I guess that the method that Gnome uses to render QT apps is not compatible with QT 6.7 .

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

Is anyone affected NOT using gnome?
Does anyone affected use https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qgno … m-qt6-git/ ?
Does it help to install https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/qt6ct/ and

export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt6ct

?
(But NOT "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb"!)

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

I use Gnome. Before adding QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb to /etc/environment file, I had these env variables in said file:

QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt6ct
QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland

qt6ct package was already installed on my system before editing /etc/environment file, qgnomeplatform-qt6-git package is not installed.

Re: [SOLVED] Issues with qBittorrent and Qt 6.7.0

I'm having the same issue. Strawberry, OBS, MKVToolNix, qBittorrent and Wireshark windows are invisible. I'm also on GNOME using Wayland.

Installed packages:

adwaita-qt5-git
adwaita-qt6-git
qadwaitadecorations-qt5
qadwaitadecorations-qt6
qt5-wayland-decorations
qt5ct
qt6ct
qt6-wayland

Qt environment variables:

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland
QT_WAYLAND_DECORATION=adwaita
QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=adwaita-dark

I think I am having the same issue. I am using GNOME. When I tried to open Okular, it just started as a blank window with no borders.
