Unstable 7900XTX

Journalctl before the crash: https://pastebin.com/mxNiazj9

This regularly occurs at seemingly random times; but not when under load. This only occurs when just sitting on the desktop and moving the cursor, or looking at a text file. The machine goes to a black screen, sometimes recovers and sometimes reboots.

Arch Linux x86_64
6.8.5-arch1-1
Plasma 6.0.3
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (32) @ 5.8GHz [45.5°on]
AMD ATI 6d:00.0 Raphael
AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XT/7900 XTX/7900M

Re: Unstable 7900XTX

There's no error in that journal. If you "recover" by holding the power button, don't do that set up REISUB try to do a safe reboot with the REISUB sequence and post the journal from an active crash.

If it is tied to load, try to disable low power on amdgpu: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU … cy_problem and/or https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU … phics_card

I'll try the kernel boot parameter suggested in the wiki. When I said "recovered" i meant that the plasma crash handler would come up, telling me a crash had occured and relaunch, and wouldn't do a full reboot.

Re: Unstable 7900XTX

The backtrace would be rather useful, then.
It might still exist in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Core_d … _core_dump

I have just also added this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU … phics_card

Was running Stable Diffusion, but nothing was being generated.
