[Solved] Stuck in emergency mode

So I'm stuck in emergency mode. I don't really know what happened, I use that old notebook as a home server/diy project but I had really not time for it recently. I noticed a service not working and found it like this.

I was going to revert to a previous btrfs snapshot, but there are a couple weird things (at least for me).

  1. I can't make the grub menu appear. I keep the shift key pushed down, but it does not work. Is that outdated?

  2. I have snapper installed and it was supposed to be working well (every update it was making snapshots and they would be listed after the install. Now whatever I want to do with snapper (like list configs) the I get the following:

    Failure (org.freedesktop.dbus.error.filenotfound)

In my journalctl I have not found anything outright suspicious, but I'm a newbie. Here are the logs:
journalctl -b
journalctl -xe
dmesg

Oh, and I forgot to add that I have modified the boot target from graphical to multi-user.target, to no avail.

Thanks.

Re: [Solved] Stuck in emergency mode

It was caused by a faulty NTFS partition in fstab that could not be mounted at boot time.
