[Solved] paraview 5.12.0 parsing problem

Hi,

the current version of paraview from the official repository isn't working well because of some problems, such that trying to open a *.vtk file results in the following error message:

(  12.210s) [paraview        ]       vtkXMLReader.cxx:576    ERR| vtkXMLRectilinearGridReader (0x5f8e4e1bb930): Error parsing input file.  ReadXMLInformation aborting.
(  12.292s) [paraview        ]       vtkXMLParser.cxx:364    ERR| vtkXMLDataParser (0x5f8e4f115100): Error parsing XML in stream at line 27, column 0, byte index 1294: not well-formed (invalid token)
(  12.292s) [paraview        ]       vtkXMLReader.cxx:576    ERR| vtkXMLRectilinearGridReader (0x5f8e4aa10330): Error parsing input file.  ReadXMLInformation aborting.

there are discussions about the problem here and it seems like binary release doesn't have this issue. It would be great if someone could bring the attention of the right people to this. Paraview is unusable right after install right now.

thanks, downgrading expat and lib32-expat to 2.5.0 makes paraview work again.
