something wrong with a recent upgrade concerning fonts in kde

I have a problem with the DejaVu Condensed fonts missing in kde although they are installed. Yesterday I updated another arch system (after a long time of no updates) and now dejavu condensed fonts are also missing there! So perhaps there's something about a recent upgrade that's the problem.

If you have dejavu and kde installed, could you check if you can use dejavu CONDENSED fonts in kde apps (like change kedit's font to dejavu condensed)?

Re: something wrong with a recent upgrade concerning fonts in kde

G`day just installed arch 0.8 & are having the exact problem also with dejavu condensed fonts in kde. Also tried suggestion http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=29492 but to no avail.

Anyways, the first prob I have come across so far, very impressed with this distro (gentoo user). I have it running on a t42 & its the fastest distro so far, everything works & it only took hours, not 2 days wink

Re: something wrong with a recent upgrade concerning fonts in kde

Hmm, I guess only a few arch users use dejavu sans condensed AND kde. However, I'm almost certain that this is a potential issue for everyone here.

Anyway, I found this explanation:
