Hello there.
I had installed package aws-cli-v2 on Thu 11 Apr 2024 08:50:03 AM CEST.
After latest upgrade, the package somehow disappeared.
It is still in duckduckgo search cache but https://security.archlinux.org/package/aws-cli-v2 returns 404 and https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/aws-cli-v2/ says it has been removed.
I see it is still available in AUR.
Is there any information available about package removal? I am not that advanced with Archlinux so I am not sure how exactly packages gets into extras repository, if there is some repository which lists them or so...

Packages are dropped to the AUR when a maintainer doesn't want to/can't maintain it anymore or they've been orphaned for a while. Every year there's a "spring cleanup" in which packages without a maintainer or relevant adopter from the pool of maintainers doesn't want to adopt them. The Spring cleanup was rather late this year, chances it got shafted there.
There's an RSS feed for when removals happen, you might want to subscribe to that: https://archlinux.org/feeds/
