Re: Perl panel

Package (AUR)

AUR Depends:
perl-xmms
perl-gnome2-wnck

Normal depends:
perl
perlxml
perl-xml-simple
gtk2-perl
glade-perl
perl-locale-gettext
perl-date-manip

Notes:
----
I built the package for you, i don't use it.
If you experience any problems post it to the package comments. It could be that there are even more depends i don't know, since i have a bunch of perl modules installed (i do alot of perl development).
If the version is outdated and you recognize it before i do so (i regularely check that), please flag it out of date, so i can update the package.

It could be that those applets you want need to be installed somehow, didn't take the time to check all this.

Re: Perl panel

Uploaded perlpanel-0.9.1-2 right some minutes ago.

This should fix the issue. I had some problems saying he could not load something, but some minutes later this was gone (?). I'm a bit curious about this, but it seems to work.

Re: Perl panel

I have a problem when i launch perlpanel i receive this error:

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale setting:
                      Language = (unset),
                      LC_ALL = (unset),
                      LC_COLLATE = "C",
                      LANG="it_IT@euro"
   are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

Re: Perl panel

That's a system configuration error.
If you have configured languages, add a supported language to perlpanel (english in this case, it's not fully localized).

edit
/etc/pacman.d/locale.gen

run
logale-gen

Re: Perl panel

Good now it works! but i see that the volume applet requires Audio::Mixer module in perl, so i suggest to add this in pkgbuild dependencies.

Re: Perl panel

I've received an e-mail of the developer from perlpanel about the full dependency list.

I'm sorry, but they were not listed on the homepage.
I'll edit it to -3 when i get home from work.

Last but not least, perlpanel has new developers who don't get forward as they wanted, so it might take some longer release shedule till the first updates come. Other projects (as pypanel) might grow faster, you should keep an eye on them wink.

Re: Perl panel

Package (AUR) - 0.9.1-3

AUR Depends:
perl-xmms
perl-gnome2-wnck
perl-audio-mixer
perl-gtk2-traymanager

Normal depends:
perl
perlxml
perl-xml-simple
gtk2-perl
glade-perl
perl-locale-gettext
perl-date-manip
gnome-vfs-perl
gettext
x-server

Some dependencies added, built two more modules wich are necessary according to the developer.
Hope i hit every single module it depends on...

Note:
The configuration dialog crashes when adding or removing applets.
The ~/.perlpanelrc is broken afterwards, so if you remove something you might experience problems.
I suggest you set the thing up once, working, and just dont touch it wink.
Seems not very stable to me, as i said, i develop a lot of perl, but i don't have the time to take a closer look to make a patch... quite busy irl.

Have fun,
STi
