[SOLVED] Pipewire (Wireplumber) inactive nVIDIA HDMI audio device

I think this problem appeared with local/nvidia 550.78-3 upgrade.

<WORKAROUND>
Upon every Log-In I execute:

# udevadm control --reload && udevadm trigger

and everything come back working perfectly fine

I also try adding $ cat ~/.asoundrc :

But still... Changes will not persist upon next reboot (or shutdown).

The asoundrc is wrong in any and all cases remove it.

The fact no devices show up initially could be multiple daemons stealing from each other or invalid cache files.

What is your output of

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*

before the fix? It should only show wireplumber and pipewire. If pulseaudio is there as well you'll want to install pipewire-pulse.

If it isn't, likely corrupt wireplumber cache, try removing ~/.local/state/wireplumber and restarting wireplumber/rebooting
