Pacman cannot install some apps

Hi, I cannot install some packages with pacman. Here's how it looks:

jim@Arch ~> sudo -S steam
[sudo] password for jim:
sudo: steam: command not found

Why does pacman interpret steam as a command, rather than the subject of the command?

Apologies for wasting time. I'm extra stupid tonight.

Re: Pacman cannot install some apps

Given that you didn't execute pacman at all, it's kinda' a moot point isn't it?
