Plymouth does not show splash on ZFS equipped machine and more

Good evening all, having some issues with Plymouth on my ZFS Arch install. I have triple checked that

plymouth

is in my mkinitcpio hooks, and i've even tried a package from the aur called

plymouth-zfs

which also does not work. My current hooks looks like this:

HOOKS=(base udev autodetect microcode modconf kms keyboard keymap consolefont block plymouth plymouth-zfs zfs filesystems fsck)

and my plymouthd.conf is default with one change, the theme being bgrt.

My second issue is related to "faces" not showing up in sddm, even though I have copied the image I want to both

/usr/share/sddm/faces

and

/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/faces

but they do not show up no matter what.

Have you done this?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Plymouth#Installation

the Plymouth Wiki article wrote:

If you want to see the splash screen, append splash to the kernel parameters

For your second question: Experience has shown that it is a good idea to open one thread per problem, unless you have reasons to believe that they are connected.

I believe I missed adding splash to my kernel parameters, thank you for pointing that out, that fixed it. And my apologies for posting 2 issues in 1. I will create a separate issue now.
