Broken install after freeze during update.

My computer froze during an update with paru. I left it for 12 hours hoping it might sort itself out but there was no luck so I tried rebooting. Upon a reboot I got a kernal panic.
I had an older archiso on a flashdrive so I loaded it and mounted my install to /mnt.

I tried to arch-chroot into my install but got the following error:
`/bin/bash: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libncursesw.so.6: file too short`

I also tried to run pacman -Syu with the --sysroot and --cachedir options pointing to my install and got the following error:
`error: GPGME error: Invalid crypto engine`
`error: failed to synchronize all databases (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))`

I have tried following several other post threads on these forumns, Reddit, and stack overflow but most of the advice I saw involved running pacman to reinstall everything but I can't seem to get past the above error.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
