Audio Interface suddenly stopped outputting sound. No output channels

Hello!

I have been using my interface for a while now with no problem. I am a bit concerned that I have some mismatch going on or something with Sunshine and dummy outputs. I don't quite understand how that all works.

My Sound card stopped noticing any output channels today. It is a Scarlett 18i20 that I use for music production. It has always worked flawlessly.

To clarify, I can see in Pavucontrol and gnome audio settings that it is receiving sound from every application but nothing comes through my headphones. I have checked with other computers so i know that the interface works fine.

Weirdly, when running gnome-settings audio test, the front left and front right channels dont even appear as an option. I have restarted and reset a number of times.
In qJackctl, I can see all 20 potential outs for the interface but none of them work...

I'm pretty lost on what to do. Thanks in advance for your time!
some programs that i am guessing might be causing the problem:
pulseaudio-nextsink
sunshine
Reaper itself?

Re: Audio Interface suddenly stopped outputting sound. No output channels

There's no actable information here:

aplay -lL
amixer -c0 #Or whatever the correct index of the card is according to aplay -l
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
sudo dmesg | grep usb
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks
pactl list sink-inputs

FWIW focusrites are somewhat notorious for very non-standard behaviours and often have various quirks on both the kernel and the sound server/pipewire level. Might also be a wireplumber state bug and could potentially be fixed by rm -r ~/.local/state/wireplumber and restarting wireplumber/rebooting
