Gnome login screen: wallpaper and automatic user selection

Hello,
I have installed Arch with Gnome on both my Notebook and my desktop PC some time ago.
Both systems are set up very similar and up-to-date.

Still there is a major difference: the Gnome login screen.

On my notebook:
- It shows my user's wallpaper blurred as the background, which looks quite nice.
- It automatically selects my user and I can immediately start typing my password.

On my desktop PC:
- The background is all grey.
- I have to click on my user name/icon before I can start entering my password (one extra step).

In the Gnome settings app I cannot find any settings regarding these two topics.
Can anyone tell me what's the difference here? And how I can change these settings?

The easiest way I have found is to install gdm-settings from the AUR.
