Request: jaybird jdbc driver for firebird, required by dbeaver

DBeaver is a sql developer and db management system to multi backend including firebird (in addition to MSSQL, MYSQL, etc). To work with firebird backend, DBeaver, java application, requires jdbc driver for firebird. this is what jaybird comes to play.

Although dbeaver can be install without jaybird and when connecting to firebird, it allows download/install within the dbeaver application, bypassing pacman. This is no good. I like pacman way, even if this is AUR. anyway to include jaybird in AUR?

thanks.

It would help if you posted links to that software .

Searching for jaybird sfotware leads to https://sourceforge.net/projects/jayex/ which hasn't been updated since 2015 and states it's in alpha status .
I sincerely hope that's not the software you want to use.

Hi Lone_Wolf,

jaybird for firebird has a repo on gibhub. below is the link to the project. I am sure it has more frequent updates.

Upstream uses java but through gradle .
There are no package guidelines for gradle, but the pdftk PKGBUILD looks like a good example.

In my experience the best maintainers are those that have an interest in the software package they maintain.
Please try to start a PKGBUILD for it, jzhu .
