'S' keypress happening often on laptop

On laptop but using an external usb keyboard. Key presses of 's' will just start popping up randomly now and then for about 20 times on short succession then might stop again. Not sure what causes or makes it cease again.

Since I have also had issues with phantom clicks with the touchpad, which I have floated and that issue seems to have stopped, I am guessing the keypresses are probably from the laptop keyboard though not 100%.

I tried doing xinput list then xinput float 18 for AT Translated Set 2 Keyboard which I read online would kill the laptop keyboard however the keys still produce output even though xinput list then says it is floated.

Here is my xinput list:

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ TypeMatrix.com USB Keyboard Consumer Control	id=14	[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Logitech M315/M235 id=15	[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus id=6	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ SIGMACHIP USB Keyboard id=8	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ SIGMACHIP USB Keyboard System Control id=9	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ SIGMACHIP USB Keyboard Consumer Control id=10	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ TypeMatrix.com USB Keyboard id=12	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ TypeMatrix.com USB Keyboard System Control	id=13	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Intel HID events id=16	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Intel HID 5 button array id=17	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=18	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ TypeMatrix.com USB Keyboard Consumer Control	id=19	[slave keyboard (3)]
∼ SIGMACHIP USB Keyboard Mouse id=11	[floating slave]

As an aside, why would the system touchpad be called USB keyboard mouse? It has certainly stopped the laptop's touchpad but unsure why it would be called usb.

EDIT: Ah.. following that reasoning I just tried to float 8, and that has stopped the laptop keyboard. I will try adding it to .xinitrc.
