Hello all,
Currently running Framework 16 and recording some pretty high temps outside but the fans do not appear to be even spinning.
I looked into the fw-fanctrl-git and fw-ectool-git packages on the AUR but there appears to be a dependency issue on the package itself since it would not install with either yay, paru or using the "make -si" command on the cloned repo.
I believe it might be fixed in a couple of days because I did see people talking about it recently on the package page but was wondering if there was a more manual solution for today?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try adding those 2 dependencies as makedepends for fw-ectool-git , then run makepkg -rs to check if that's enough .
(AUR helpers tend to rely on .SRCINFO and may neglect the changes in PKGBUILD)
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

I attempted your solution and ran into some issues - The specific dependencies would not work with the makepkg commands (-rs or -si), I cannot remember the specific error but I believe it was along the lines of not being able to compile / find them.
I used pacman to "manually" install those specific things and then attempted the makepkg command again and got it working. There was initially an issue with conflicting files, but after removing a specific folder and reinstalling both the packages with Paru it worked (This is after I installed the earlier dependencies through pacman)
Now both fw-fanctrl-git and fw-ectool-git are installed and working as intended.
Thanks again for the help and I will mark this one as solved.

makepkg can use su to elevate but if sudo is installed it uses that. If your user doesn't have sudo rights for pacman -S / pacman -R this will fail .
Aside from configuring sudo it's also possible to force makepkg to use another program for auth'ing through makepg.conf .
Glad you found a solution that works for you.
