[Solved] Fallout 4, Steam; no audio. [July 2024 solution in 2nd post]

SO I checked the forums and all I found was a similar problem from a year ago, which looked like it was caused by an update. In my case the symptoms are the same:

I played some games and they had sound, I loaded up steam today and no sound for fallout 4. I tried checking for the correct libraries, but I think I might be in over my head. Any ideas? I will provide whatever information is needed.

And addendum, I'm using pipewire and I've seen a few solutions to prior related issues by switch to Pulse.  I'm a Luddite, here, so I may need so educating.

I remember installing these to get sound to work in Bethesda games: lib32-pipewire lib32-libpulse pipewire-pulse lib32-gst-plugins-base lib32-gst-plugins-good pipewire-alsa lib32-alsa-lib lib32-alsa-plugins

Yep, yep,
That's what I did last night, and proceeded to save my bash log just in case it happens again and I forget. I meant to mark this as solved, but I got attacked by super mutants......
