Macbook Target Disk Mode

Hi, sorry if this question is silly, but I can't find any updated info (it is year 2024) about whether there is a possibility to connect Macbook (Pro A1708) in Target Disk Mode to an Arch Linux system (targetdm: Target Disk Mode protocol over Thunderbolt). Probably not, but can someone briefly explain why and what would need to happen for it to work?

Your problem will be how to read (and moreso write) the apple filesystem. Getting it to show up as a disk should not be the inherent issue.
