ROG Strix G16 G634JZR_G614JZR - New installation, No Audio

Hey, I'm new with Arch, installed it on a brand new ROG Strix G16 G634JZR_G614JZR (after a ubuntu installation produced no sound as well)
Bios sounds and startup sound work (before the OS loads)
BT and audio jack work.
have tried countless solutions to similar issues, finally had the audacity to open a new issue after saw a response here that Arch sound problems are usually case specific
so here goes, would very much appreciate help:

You should first find out which layer the sound doesn't work at.

speaker-test -Dhw:0 -c2

if this doesn't give you noise, you have a driver/kernel issue. The most relevant article here for adding new quirks, seeing as your already using the customized ASUS kernel, is https://asus-linux.org/guides/cirrus-amps/

Maybe also throw in a

sudo dmesg | grep hda

regarding the article, it seems like it is not the issue i'm having since running
